cannot get location services to turn off unless forcing off in Settings/Loc Services page
This is normal, the location services icon will appear when the app is in battery mode. Apple does not distinguish between what kind of location updates are requested by the apps, they will always show the icon if any app is requesting location. If…

cannot get location services to turn off unless forcing off in Settings/Loc Services page
There is a switch in the "Settings" tab in the app that will disable location services for the app. With Apple's update which allows apps to record location in the background, quitting the app no longer stops location services for the…

Confused over layers created via API
If you created the layers with an application token then the layers are associated with the application, not with your account. We're working on a fix to make the account/layers page show layers that were created by applications you own as well.

Get layer id by unique key?
Yes, this is possible! I've updated the API docs to reflect this. http://developers.geoloqi.com/api/layer/info/:id

iOS 4 introduced the capability for iPhone apps to be registered for location updates even when they are not running. This doesn't necessarily mean the GPS itself is on, because the phone has the capability to receive location updates via wifi o…

George, I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the app. Before I get in to the details, first allow me to point out that at any point you can prevent Geoloqi from accessing your location by going to the iPhone's "Settings" app …

General Questions
Yes, that is a good estimate of the expected usage volume. If you have a specific use case where our advertised pricing wouldn't be a good fit, feel free to contact us and we can work something out: http://developers.geoloqi.com/enterprise

place/nearby latitude and longitude
GET and POST should both work. It could be that the user account making the request has no recent location data available, so in that case it would require a parameter to be sent. The safest way to make this request is to always provide a latitude a…

Thanks for pointing this out! We just made an internal change to the way we store the "extra" parameters which temporarily prevented new records from being inserted. It has since started working again so you should have no problems with it…

Right now the only way to do this is to connect your Twitter account. Once you do that, your username will switch to your Twitter username.

There is a way to do this, actually. We do this in MapAttack to push messages to the clients when someone captures a coin. This works by creating a "group" and having all your players join the group. Members of the group have the ability …

Can I add a KML-file as layer on the Google map with the embed code?
The embed code doesn't support this kind of customization. However, you can use our Javascript SDK to embed a live trail on your own map where you could load in KML files or anything else.

Is it possible to have Geoloqi send Geonote to another person when I pass a waypoint?
This is probably our most requested feature so far. We’ll definitely be adding this in the very near future! Thanks for the great suggestion!

We do not currently have a KML or GPX export format, but all of your data is available through the Geoloqi API. We will likely be adding a KML export for trips in the near future!
