15:12 <michaelbloom> Saw on the Goeloqi website that 'traveling a given distance' is an upcoming fencing option.
15:13 <michaelbloom> What sort of timeline should i have in mind for that...

15:42 <verydev> fyi, a new user to geoloqi with no layers, when clicking the "create a new layer" link in the layers tab on the site gets a missing page, instead of /layers/new
15:43 <verydev> instead the link on "create a new layer" goes to /applications/new

16:02 <aaronpk> verydev: thanks!
16:16 <aaronpk> verydev: what page were you looking at when you found the broken link? Do you remember the URL?
16:16 <aaronpk> ohh thanks. i was looking on the main website (geoloqi.com)
16:17 <verydev> ahhh, yes, important detail.
16:18 <verydev> It occurs to me that the issue may have been that i didn't actually have an application at that point in the first place...
16:18 <aaronpk> nope, you definitely found a bug. thanks!
16:19 <verydev> sweet. Love the dev tools btw. Fantastic work.
16:21 <verydev> Hey, on an iPhone, if you don't have cell service, but do have gps locations, will it track to the device and then send data when it gets a chance?
16:21 <verydev> or is that data lost?
16:22 <verydev> actually, not cell service, but internet connection (cell or wifi)
16:22 <aaronpk> yea it records data to a local database before sending it up, so if there is no internet connection it will continue recording
16:22 <verydev> fantastic.
16:22 <aaronpk> data is only removed from the device after it is successfully sent to the server
16:23 <verydev> makes sense.
16:25 <verydev> also, the feature blurb on fencing refers to triggers at crossing a speed threshold, but i haven't noticed in the API docs how to go about setting that. Any clues?
16:26 <aaronpk> That's actually coming in the next release of the API. I should make sure the site reflects that.
16:27 <aaronpk> What is your intended use of that feature? We tend to prioritize feature rollout by demand
16:28 <verydev> App would be a little dry, but quite handy. Trip Milage tracking for taxes.
16:28 <aaronpk> ah yea, that would be really useful actually.
16:29 <verydev> Basically, when you get in a car and drive somewhere, (speed or distance trigger i presume), that would be a trip...
16:32 <verydev> then, you could specify specific areas as places (home, client's house, office etc), and it would, over time, auto populate your milage logs.
16:32 <aaronpk> that would be awesome
16:37 <verydev> I met Amber, at the Spotsi launch party and just started messing with geoloqi today, but its a a fun set of tools. Couldnt say what would be the most accurate way of guessing if someone's walking or stuck in traffic as of yet ;)
