15:08 <geografa> trying to bulk upload some places to a layer. Is batch/run the best method to do this?
15:09 <aaronpk> batch/run is just a way to run multiple API requests by making a single HTTP request, so it's only slightly faster
15:13 <geografa> hmm..got it. so what's the best way to a bunch of places for a single layer? What's the limit?
15:15 <aaronpk> there isn't really a limit, Pat put 7000 bus stops into his layer.
15:15 <aaronpk> it takes a while but it eventually goes.
15:16 <aaronpk> I kind of like the idea of making a GUI to import data from a CSV file
15:16 <aaronpk> but don't have time for that now. The best thing would just be to make a bunch of API requests, don't bother going through batch/run even.
15:17 <geografa> I like the idea of a CSV importer, though. :-)
15:20 <aaronpk> yea it's come up a few times, would certainly be neat

15:39 <Wraithan> Yeah, I think the best bet is to do the calls individually so you can see how far you got
15:40 <Wraithan> Or, even better, you can make the calls via something like 45 workers and rapidly upload everything. Though I am a jerk so maybe you shouldn't do that second part :)
15:42 <geografa> cool. reading now. don't know ruby that well but I think I get the gist.
15:43 <aaronpk> I might have a PHP example
15:44 <aaronpk> oh, nvm, didn't end up on github somehow

17:53 <teknotus> This morning I got the geoloqi c++ desktop app that Jill, and I started at the hackathon to draw a rudimentary map. Needs lots of work still
