07:44 <julianoliver> hi guys. i'm in a classroom setting and have little or no time to set up a server. is there a test-server we can use for the class?
07:45 <julianoliver> we merely want to use Geoloqi to take notes as we walk around the city, share a little media made on site, etc.

09:39 <aaronpk> I don't know if I want you reading all my DMs :)
09:41 <tjgillies_> thats an interesting point of study
09:41 <tjgillies_> "will people every auth their credentials to bots"
09:41 <tjgillies_> i think people are implicitly scared of any automated creature
09:42 <aaronpk> i'm not scared of any automated creatures, just yours ;)
09:42 <tjgillies_> i mean people in general
09:43 <tjgillies_> my boss at rww thinks my bots are going to mug him when he goes home at night
09:54 <tjgillies_> need a shirt that says "I read your dms"
09:55 <tjgillies_> aaronpk: r u at castagna?
09:55 <aaronpk> oui presse

10:33 <julianoliver> hey guys. is there a public server that can be used for exploring Geoloqi?
10:33 <julianoliver> i'm hoping to use it for a day class, for a design department here in Geneva.
10:34 <julianoliver> they cannot provide a server with root access with which to install Geoloqi without a month of paperwork.
10:35 <aaronpk> julianoliver: it's actually a hosted service, you can just start using it with the apps that are in the store, and you can use the API if you wish as well:
http://developers.geoloqi.com
10:35 <aaronpk> what are you planning to do?
10:38 <julianoliver> aaronpk: ahah.. i see. clearly too tired to hve worked that out myself today. very busy classroom setting.
10:38 <julianoliver> aaronpk: i'm teaching an Urban Gaming workshop. we'd like to use it to collect and store notes, 'psychogeographic' data, etc
10:40 <aaronpk> Neat! When would this take place?
10:42 <julianoliver> aaronpk: right now! i just taught the first day. the results of the workshop will go into an experimental gaming exhibition in Yverdon. quite a bit show in a great museum.
10:42 <julianoliver> aaronpk: MA Design students. smart kids.. lots of super ideas.
10:44 <aaronpk> Great! So you want to have people walk around and collect notes and see them on a map later?
10:44 <julianoliver> yes, perhaps even explore some rudimentary game scenarios using this facility. quite a lot can be done with this alone, i think!
10:46 <aaronpk> Sounds great! Do you have the capability of doing any iphone/android/web development?
10:48 <julianoliver> aaronpk: well i certainly do myself, in fact i'm working on an unrelated Android app currently. in this classroom setting - and with just five days - i won't have time to get into it sadly. the students are not programmers either, so its beyond the scope.
10:49 <julianoliver> nonetheless, i'm very excited to have discovered Geoloqi. just wish i had a few weeks before the workshop, rather than the night before (via MapAttack).
10:49 <aaronpk> Well if you're interested, we can set up a MapAttack game in your area very quickly!
10:50 <julianoliver> really? that'd be excellent indeed! students would love it!
10:50 <julianoliver> we're in Geneva, Switzerland
10:50 <aaronpk> If you email a specific address to case@geoloqi.com Amber will set up a game there!
10:51 <julianoliver> man, that'd be just great. i will certainly do this. thankyou very much!
10:51 <julianoliver> smiles broadly
10:52 <aaronpk> We are also working on a new version of our iPhone and Android apps which may be exactly what you need for what you mentioned earlier
10:52 <aaronpk> the goal is to allow people to write notes and upload photos to a map that you can see on the website
10:52 <julianoliver> excellent.. very very useful stuff.
10:53 <julianoliver> i'll be sure to follow your progress!
10:53 <julianoliver> right. i'm going head out and meet the department director for a beer and share the good news about MapAttack Geneva ;)
10:54 <aaronpk> Wunderbar!
10:55 <julianoliver> super! bis später!

14:46 <Wraithan> aaronpk: I've added some issues to the geoloqi-python api client, once the minimum needed (docs, oauth2 refresh) I'll let you know and you can add it to the docs as one of the API clients
14:46 <aaronpk> awesome!!
14:47 <aaronpk> request: can you rename it to Geoloqi? (not camelcased)
14:47 <Wraithan> Those things will hopefully get completed on the long weekend comin up
14:47 <Wraithan> I thought it was GeoLoqi
14:47 <aaronpk> we spelled it like that when we first started, but haven't for a year or so
14:47 <Wraithan> aaronpk: mind tossing in an issue on github? I'll get to it later.
14:47 <aaronpk> it might still be lingering in some places
14:47 <aaronpk> sure thing
14:48 <Wraithan> I'll toss one in the workout tracker as well
