12:41 <webchat680> Hi.. quick question about trigger/create if I specify a callback type can I create any URL I want to be posts (dynamically?)
12:41 kyledrake joined #geoloqi
13:03 <aaronpk> webchat680: you can define a URL to post to, the payload will contain a bunch of information you can use to react accordingly
13:03 <aaronpk> for example, you'll get the user ID who triggered it, also the place information and layer information
13:10 <aaronpk> b 13
13:10 <aaronpk> ignore me
13:12 <webchat680> so if I need to the trigger to fire another service I'd need some kind of intermediary to handle the payload (?) or is there a way for my app to be notified of a trigger to fire my service call that way...?
13:13 <aaronpk> not quite sure I understand the question
13:13 <aaronpk> typically with the callback URL type, we see people set up a server to handle custom logic there
13:13 <webchat680> :) maybe I'm not understanding the callback
13:14 <webchat680> I think I misunderstood... the callback URL is something geoloqi sends my app which I can use for XYZ .. is that accurate?
13:14 <aaronpk> ahh not quite
13:15 <aaronpk> it sends a JSON post to a remote server, the payload is this: http://developers.geoloqi.com/api/Trigger_Callback
13:16 <webchat680> ooohhh. Ok. thanks :)
13:18 <webchat680> do you know if titanium/ACS will support handling the callback - server logic - component? I've talked to them before about this and they indicated it has the capability, but I wasn't convinced the gentleman I spoke with was full versed on the technical side of things
13:18 <aaronpk> acs?
13:19 <webchat680> appcelerator cloud services
13:19 <aaronpk> ah! sorry, wasn't familiar with the acronym
13:19 <aaronpk> let me check on that...
13:19 <webchat680> np.. thanks:)
13:20 <aaronpk> what would you be doing in response to the trigger callback?
13:20 <aaronpk> i.e., sending a message, sending an email, logging to a database?
13:22 <webchat680> i want to make calls to say twitter/facebook. I do need logging as well by place... but I haven't got that far yet
13:22 <aaronpk> ok, so sending a tweet or posting to facebook?
13:22 <webchat680> yep
13:29 <aaronpk> not sure about that then, it seems to me at first glance that you'd need a server to handle authentication properly
13:31 <webchat680> hm... I can follow up with them again I suppose. I was afraid you were going to say that. any suggestions re. server/service to handle this?

13:32 <aaronpk> heh sorry, i'm just not as familiar with that service of theirs
13:32 <aaronpk> if you do go the route of setting up a server, I'd suggest heroku since it's probably the easiest
13:33 <webchat680> cool :) I'll check it out!
13:33 <aaronpk> we also ahve a Ruby and python library that can help with communicating with our server
