20:35 <jtbandes> aaronpk: ping
20:35 <Loqi> pong
20:35 <aaronpk> hey
20:35 <jtbandes> not you, Loqi :P
20:35 <jtbandes> so what did you need re: the map stuff?
20:36 <aaronpk> two things
20:36 <aaronpk> Really subtle
20:37 <aaronpk> The first time you start the app, before there is any history to load in, the line doesn't appear until after the map is moved
20:37 <aaronpk> even though there is a line there, it doesn't appear until you drag the map once
20:38 <aaronpk> I can't figure out what is telling it to actually draw the line
20:38 <Loqi> 32 files modified, 9 new files, 129 files removed in https://github.com/geoloqi/Geoloqi-iPhone/commits/master by Aaron Parecki
20:38 <aaronpk> hah 129 files removed
20:39 <aaronpk> so I'm wondering what I need to do to force the line to start drawing itself before the map is dragged. There doesn't seem to be a "regionDidChange" method which I would have expected to see
20:41 <jtbandes> hmmm
20:46 <jtbandes> sorry, trying to get it to build, hang on a sec
20:47 <Loqi> 1 files modified in https://github.com/geoloqi/Geoloqi-iPhone/commits/master by Aaron Parecki
20:47 <aaronpk> oh you might need this ^^
20:47 <jtbandes> nah, I think it's working now
20:48 <aaronpk> k, your facebook share will probably crash without that update
20:48 <jtbandes> ok, in the simulator, when I open the app it loads for a bit, then zooms into my location and draws the line
20:48 <jtbandes> without me touching it
20:48 <aaronpk> did you log in to an existing account?
20:48 <aaronpk> try it with an anonymous account
20:49 <jtbandes> how do I log out?
20:49 <aaronpk> :D
20:49 <jtbandes> lawl
20:49 <aaronpk> quit the app, go to the settings app, delete the refresh token
20:50 <jtbandes> ok, done
20:50 <jtbandes> now it found my location, but didn't zoom there
20:51 <aaronpk> oh come on that post was voted down to -2??
20:51 <jtbandes> hah
20:51 <aaronpk> you're inthe simulator, right?
20:51 <jtbandes> yeah
20:51 <aaronpk> press "check in" a few times. it has a randomizer built in to the simulator to make a squiggly line
20:51 <aaronpk> then drag the map and you should see it appear
20:52 <jtbandes> ah
20:52 <jtbandes> weird
20:52 <aaronpk> I thought so too
20:52 <jtbandes> so this only happens with new points, i.e. when you move around?
20:53 <aaronpk> only if the map hasn't been moved
20:53 <jtbandes> ever, or since the new points?
20:53 <aaronpk> not quite sure. if it loads the history, it zooms the map in, so then the line appears
20:53 <jtbandes> hmmm
20:54 <aaronpk> maybe the quick fix is to force the map to zoom
20:54 <jtbandes> quick fix, sure, but that's not right
20:55 <jtbandes> this is where it tells it to update: [lineView setNeedsDisplayInMapRect:updateRect];
20:56 <aaronpk> actually now that I think about it, the map doesn't zoom to your current location when you click "use anonymously"
20:57 <aaronpk> oh that's because it doesn't zoom until location updates are on...hmm
21:01 <aaronpk> ok I think I fixed that problem
21:02 <Loqi> 1 files modified in https://github.com/geoloqi/Geoloqi-iPhone/commits/master by Aaron Parecki
21:03 <aaronpk> so that might just take care of the broken case
21:03 <aaronpk> so the other problem is unforunately harder to test. After a "while", the line stops getting points added to it.
21:20 <aaronpk> also, check the "Settings" app under Geoloqi -> About and let me know if that's how you want to be credited :)
22:41 <jtbandes> aaronpk: can you fit "Jacob Bandes-Storch"?
23:25 <jtbandes> aaronpk: looks like a couple names aren't fitting very well... maybe there should be an info page in the app that has them in a different format, i.e. text field
